Sustainability, Served Daily.
At Five Mile Eatery, we keep it close to home — sourcing fresh ingredients straight from local farmers and purveyors whenever we can. And when we have to reach beyond our region, we choose organic staples like flour, coconut oil, and vegan milks to keep things clean and conscious.
Our love for the planet runs deep. We team up with Backyard Sapphire to recycle glass and metal the right way — you can dig into their work at backyardsapphire.com. We also collaborate with Worm Lady Recycles, turning food scraps and cardboard into compost gold. Curious? Learn more at wormladyrecycles.com.
Even our packaging is part of the mission. We encourage our vendors to ditch the plastic and join us in using biodegradable or reusable alternatives. All of our to-go cups, boxes, utensils, and straws are certified compostable and/or biodegradable.
This is what sustainability tastes like. Let’s build a greener future, one feel-good meal at a time.

FAQs
What’s with the name “Five Mile”?
It started as a promise — back in 2022, when we were based in Arnaudville, we called ourselves Five Mile Co-op and sourced everything (yep, food, coffee, and tea) from within five miles. Pop-ups, private dinners, small-town magic. That five-mile radius taught us how powerful local sourcing could be.
Today, we cast a wider net, but the heart of that idea stays the same: support local, keep it sustainable, and serve food that makes you feel good.
What does “Co-op” mean to you?
To us, "co-op" means community. We collaborate with local farmers, makers, and producers to build our menus and stock our shelves. These partners are part of our extended fam — and they get 20% off for being part of it.
Inside our team, co-op also means shared values, support, and collective success. We believe in working together, lifting each other up, and one day (dream with us!) becoming a full worker-owned cooperative.

Why don’t you offer physical gift cards?
We’re all about reducing waste, so we’ve chosen to skip plastic gift cards altogether. Until Square offers a recyclable paper or cardboard option, we’re staying digital-only — it’s just one of the many ways we keep things earth-smart around here. 🌍♻️
That said, lots of folks send the digital gift card to themselves, print it out, decorate it, and gift it in their own creative way. As long as your giftee brings the 16-digit code to Five Mile, they’re good to go!
